Sandal Finish the Season in Style

Sandal had not played as a team for five weeks and there were concerns that they may not gel. This was soon dispelled in the first game against Malone and continued in all their subsequent games. Their style of open running, the linking of the forwards and backs, offloads in the tackles and pace drew praise from other teams and the fact they scored 102 points, more than 40 points more than any other, speaks for itself. Some of the Rugby they played was superb to watch.
Bridgend provided the toughest game, Sandal losing by a conversion. The game was very physical, but at the final whistle the Bridgend and Sandal boys all shook hands.
The entire Sandal team contributed to great performances throughout the weekend. The conditions suited their style of Rugby and they played this to the full. I am not going to pick out any individuals as the whole team played at their best. Having said that I will mention the two leading try scorers , Ryan Pape and Danny Granger with 5 a piece (top scorers in tournament as well) – well done.
I would like to say a big thank you to Keith who, through enormous commitment and sacrifice, has brought this team to the current position they are in. His hard work has finally come to fruition.
