Sandal Girls

SANDAL RUFC would like to extend their heartfelt condolences to the family, team-mates, coaches and friends of Brooke Firth, who tragically passed away last week. Brooke was just 16 year of age.

A talented flanker, Brooke was one of the eight players who attended the first-ever training session held by Sandal Girls less than three years ago. Brooke was loved by all who knew her and was a key figure behind the success of the girls’ section, which now numbers more than 80 players.

Brooke was a student at Crofton Academy who was studying A level law and had ambitions to be a criminologist. She lived in South Hiendley with her mum, Michelle and younger brother, Dylan.

A Justgiving page set up to raise funds for Brooke’s family has already raised over £4,000 and the club is sure all our members will do what they can to show their support at this tragic time.

It is with a sense of great pride that we note the way in which the rugby family has rallied round, with clubs and teams across the county and beyond in the Firth family’s hour of need.

Here at Sandal last Sunday, a raffle and sale of cakes and buns raised over £900 and more events celebrating her young life are planned over the coming weeks: full details will be posted on here, please support if you can.
