Another step forward for the future.

And so another season for the 2xv comes to an end. Depending on games played to end of season Sandal2xv will finish 2nd or 3rd. The 2xv have beaten every team in the league at least once apart from Tigers who deserve their status at the Top.

Sandal have developed from last season and strengthend their side with players returning , the odd 1stxv appearance and some great first time colts appearances. Several players have crossed the the gap and played regular 1stxv rugby. So hopefully with support from the club and the Rfu the 2xv can now become a major support to our 1stxv and a spring board for up and coming players to play competitive rugby.

Also this year we have seen the reamergance of the 3rdxv social side who have played several fixtures and hope under Paul Brenan can kick on again.

Big thanks this season go to our captain Dan Hodson, our great groundsman Graham who has been fantastic in his support for us and Brian Kettel our biggest supporter and helper. To Ben Morley who had helped out with fixtures etc and made my job easier this season and to all the ex 1stxv players who have added their experience to the mix.
Last but not least to Dave Heron who has helped out enormously with kit and communication between the teams. Thankyou

And of course to all the players who took part in our season it has been a pleasure.

I hope you will all return next year with added enthusiasm for the cause next season. Enjoy the summer boys.

Remember End of season awards on 21st of April and last Home game for the 1stxv on 28th let’s all get down and support and help then to finish in style.
