Sandal will be glad to put a difficult September behind them which saw one draw and no wins, conceding 140 points but only scoring 70. So as they say, things can only get better! Injuries to Tom Coad and Jamie Heron have had an impact on the team as you can't afford to lose quality players in what is a highly competitive league. We sit in 11th and 5 points off 10th placed Kendal, so with a fifth of the season now completed, we need to start pulling some results together.
I know the team are working very hard and there have been improvements each game. Equally, the team have found it difficult to adapt to some of the decisions that have been made on the pitch, however, at this level it is imperative that players identify how rules are interpreted so they can rise above this and impose their skill sets on the emerging game environment.
By contrast, Ilkley have had a great start to the season and will provide a stern test. The Sandal defence will be key here and the continuation of last weeks defensive efforts will be required to set the foundations for a positive result.
Join us at the club for what will be an enthralling encounter and with a fair wind, a Sandal victory.
Onwards!
