Matches against our neighbours from along the A650 have an added element of interest. Since their return to the North Premier league 2 seasons ago, Morley have relied on a post Xmas surge to secure safety. Our defeat at Scatchard Lane last January, sparked a run of form for our opponents that took them out of the relegation zone.
The 10-10 draw this season was more to do with our inability to adapt to the referee but still, we didn't quite do enough to deserve a win.
Morley come to us on the back of a close defeat against Billingham. Leading 10-0 at half time, they were pegged back and conceded a late penalty in front of the posts to lose 10-13. Is this the start of their post-Xmas revival?
Sandal should take heart from a highly competitive match against Lymm. There was a lot of desire in that performance and I hear the team was put through a hurt locker at training on Tuesday which will help them come Saturday. We need to play on any insecurities that Morley may have and dominate the game from the whistle.
The weather for Saturday looks cloudy, but cold. With no frost forecast at this time, we will welcome our neighbours and aim to secure a good win.
Normal coverage via Twitter and hopefully some live stream.
Onwards!
