Firstly, I would like to thank everyone involved at Sandal this past year - supporters, staff, coaches, players, sponsors and many more. It’s been a challenging season, but your continued support and efforts have made a huge impact.
As a senior squad, it’s been a mixed bag of results, with some champagne rugby on display and at times, to put it lightly, some questionable rugby as well.
However, in a big developmental year for the club, the character and commitment shown by the players has been massive.
The clear and standout achievement this year has been our success in the Yorkshire Cup. Fronting up against the league champions Heath in the final, not many people gave us a chance. Getting a hard-fought victory and winning silverware is something that everyone at the club can be proud of and remember for many years to come. Even if we had to lift the trophy on a school night.
As we welcome Driffield for the last game of the season, we hope to finish the year on a high and follow up on last week’s Yorkshire cup success.
