Dan McCormack Sandal Academy Assistant Coach
I started my rugby career playing prop in the under 7s at hometown club West Park St.Helens, where I progressed through to the first team and Lancashire Colts before emigrating across the Pennines to study at Leeds University. I represented England and Great Britain students at Rugby League during my time at University and then continued playing rugby league for 4 years in the Summer Conference competition. Romance then brought me to Sandal in 2005 and I have lived here ever since. In 2005 I joined Sandal RUFC, which lucky for me coincided with the late Jim Kilfoyle also joining Sandal as first team coach. I enjoyed 9 fantastic years playing for Sandal under Jim’s stewardship and I was first team captain of this great rugby club from 2009 to 2011 during which time the club played in National 3 North.
