The Sandal team, made up of u16s and u17s, started strongly. The game was played end to end with minor errors from each team stopping either side from taking the lead. After a strong push up field a moment of magic from skipper Ibrahim Shamchiyev proved enough to open the scoring. Shamchiyev split the defence with a delicate chip and chase and pounced on the ball. It was however Hullensians who took control of the game with two quick tries. One through the middle of the pitch after confusion in the Sandal back line and then on the wing following good work up the pitch. The score at half time was 12 points to 5 to the visitors.

The second half was a similar story with both sides getting close to the whitewash but not converting into a score. Sandal started to take control and after putting pressure on the Hullensians defence, Sandal cut through to score with a strong running line by George Jones. The score was level at 12-12 with a superb long conversion from Yusif Shamchiyev. Ill discipline by both sides slowed the game down and the game ended in a fair draw.
