On Sunday 22nd September the Junior Academy had their first league game of the new season against Pontefract RUFC On paper this could have been a tough game for our Junior Academy, with most of the team being new to the Junior Academy after coming from last years u15s team The game however proved to be an exciting well played game from both sides, keeping the intensity going for the full game. It was clear that the U16s were working well and learning from the U17s player leading to a great display of rugby.
Sandal we in the lead right to the very end when a penalty kick for Pontefract moved the score to a close 12-13 loss for Sandal.
Ours boys should be very proud of their strong performance, and we look forward to the new team blending and working together well throughout the season.
The coaches, player and parents could all see the Sandal spirit was strong right up to the final whistle and after the game.
